I hired Anna for a cleaning, and was flexible about her rates given she would need to travel. I accepted without issue, when she told me how much time she needed to clean. We set a regular two-weekly schedule on her terms, and I planned accordingly.
Having confirmed the night before, she canceled half an hour before she was due claiming a new Airbnb client needed her.
Only when I followed up directly did the truth come out: There was no scheduling conflict, she wanted more money and didn’t have the honesty to say so. She chose to fabricate a reason rather than simply communicate.
I can work with someone who changes their rates. I cannot work with someone who lies about why they’ve left you without a service provider, and does not communicate their needs.
